About Air Madagascar (MD)

Air Madagascar is a small regional carrier based in Madagascar. It operates as a full-service carrier and is currently listed as active in our reference data. Across its scheduled network, Air Madagascar serves roughly 25 direct destinations from 6 primary airport(s), totalling around 75 documented route pairings. a smaller carrier serving niche or seasonal markets. The carrier’s ATC callsign is AIR MADAGASCAR.

Fare structure & what's included

As a full-service carrier, Air Madagascar usually includes one carry-on, one personal item, and a checked bag in standard economy fares (verify by route, since some basic-economy fares strip the checked bag). Hot meals, beverages, and seat selection on the day of travel are typically included on long-haul flights, while short-haul services may sell food on board.

Hubs & main bases

The airline's primary operational bases include the airports listed below. Bookings that originate from a hub almost always have more frequency, more competitive pricing, and better recovery options if a flight is cancelled. If you are connecting through a hub, allow at least the airline's published minimum connection time plus 30 minutes during winter or in known-bad-weather seasons.

Booking & check-in tips

• Book directly on the airline website. Third-party agencies often charge service fees and complicate any future change request.
• Check in online the moment check-in opens (most carriers open 24–48 hours before departure). Late check-ins are first to be denied boarding when a flight is oversold.
• If your fare allows free seat selection, do it early. Mid-cabin window/aisle pairs go fast.
• Sign up for the loyalty programme even for a single trip. Many carriers waive change fees or offer faster rebooking for members.

Operational notes

This profile is generated from open route data and is intended as a quick reference for budget travellers researching itineraries. Schedules, equipment, and even airline status can change between seasons; cross-check the live timetable on the carrier's own site before purchase. If a route appears here that the carrier no longer operates, treat it as historical signal. Many of the most affordable secondary routes are seasonal.
